Cecilia García

Cecilia García is a feminist and a human rights advocate currently working as Regional Coordinator of Equal Measures 2030 (EM2030) in Latin America and the Caribbean, through The Latin American and Caribbean Committee for the Defense of Women’s Rights (CLADEM), its partner in the region. EM2030 is an independent civil society and private sector–led partnership, which connects data and evidence with advocacy and action, helping to fuel progress towards gender equality.

Prior to joining EM2030 and CLADEM, Cecilia worked as the Rapporteur on the Rights of Women at the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City.

Cecilia has also served as a board member of several organizations in Mexico and internationally, including the National Institute for Women in Mexico (2012–2015), the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health(2015–2016), and most recently, the Board of Directors of Women Deliver (2017–Present).

Cecilia holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Gender from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (México) and a bachelor’s in Psychology.
